BASIC EVENT INFORMATION

Welcome to POX-ECLIPSE; Australia’s first major Wastelander event where immersion is everything.

Event Schedule - 2025 Info coming soon!

  • Pox-Eclipse typically runs for 3 days; Fri - Sun in October

What is Pox-Eclipse?

Pox-Eclipse is a 3 day immersive event held annually in the desert of Western Australia. The event is themed after post-apocalyptic media, especially the Mad Max films, and involves live music, film, games, stalls and post-apoclyptic vehicles. The first Pox was held in 2021 and the event has continued to grow each year. As a community built event, participants contribute to the building of the site and the activations therein through Clans. This means that the events and activations on offer are ever changing and always surprising. However one constant in our Wasteland is a wide variety of music. Every night at Pox-Eclipse there will be a different line up of live bands and the bar will be open for drinks and dancing late into the night.

Travel

Typical 2WD vehicles can access the Pox-Eclipse site.

You should plan to leave yourself plenty of time to travel, be sure your vehicle is prepared for the trip prior to leave and carry a spare tyre/jack etc. Whilst driving ensure you plan for and have adequate breaks, rotate drivers and ensure your vehicle is not overpacked.

For those traveling from Perth, the Pox-Eclipse is a 4hr drive. There is one main road, and whilst it does have overtaking spots, they are limited. Please be considerate of other drivers and ensure you remain alert for Raiders. It may be advisable to fuel up your vehicle on the way into the Wasteland to assist with needing fuel on the return journey.

Please be aware that our entry gate to the event closes at 9pm to discourage night-driving.

Currency

Old-world pennies are no longer an acceptable form of currency in the Wasteland. Instead, official Pox-Eclipse bottlecaps (caps) are the legal trading tender! Caps are used at food vendors, at the bar and at stalls in Bartertown. Between participants, bartering (swapping items not currency) is encouraged.

Pre-purchase your bottlecaps prior to arriving in the wasteland or buy them at POX-ECLIPSE from the Bank. Card and cash transactions are welcome at The Bank. However, if you plan on using cash; caps must be bought in increments of $50 or EXACT change as we won’t have a large cash float on site.

Unused bottle caps can be returned to the Bank for transferring to old-world money before the event closes. Transfer of caps to cash attracts a 20% fee to cover transfer costs. We encourage attendees to spend all caps before the event finishes or keep any small change as souvenirs where possible.

Food & Water

  • There will be some food and beverage vendors on site, these vendors will accept bottle cap currency only.

  • POX-ECLIPSE is licensed and no outside alcohol may be brought in.

  • The wasteland runs on making old things new - so you’ll find recycling bins around the Wasteland - please use them. Cans are especially important as we’re donating them to the Southern Cross Motorcycle Club to help with the site’s upkeep.

  • Please leave the wasteland as you found it and take all rubbish back to the old-world.

  • There are showers available in the Wasteland. Water is a valuable resource - so use it wisely

Weather

The weather out on the wasteland is expected to be clear skies with mid-highs 20s during the days moving to colder nights at around 10 degrees. Rain is not expected, but possible. You should plan and prepare appropriately. Read more here.
